As We See It

Building A Future

THUMBS UP to continued progress on the National Field Archery Association's (NFAA) national headquarters/Regional Center for Archery Excellence. City, county and state officials gathered in Yankton Wednesday to break ground for the project, which will be the first of its kind in the nation. The center, which is being funded by the Easton Sports Development Foundation, will offer a wide array of archery training and educational programs with the goal of one day producing an Olympic gold medalist. Bruce Cull, Yankton resident and president of the NFAA, said not even he is sure of all the opportunities the facility could present to the area. The state Game, Fish and Parks Department is still working on ways it can take advantage of it. And the facility will certainly play a role in attracting thousands of participants to archery tournaments here in the future. Get ready, Yankton. We're now a bulls-eye, but we've got to keep working hard to make sure the arrows continue coming our way.
