Archer Spotlights- Young Shooters Take 3rd Each at NFAA Target Nationals

Hannah Bartos and Brea Smith both take 3rd place in their categories at the NFAA Outdoor Target Nationals

The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center would like to congratulate members Brea Smith, 11 and Hannah Bartos, 15, for their 3rd place podium finish at the NFAA Outdoor Target Nationals held September 24-25, 2016. Hannah Bartos finished with a bronze medal finish in the Young Adult Female Freestyle division.  She has been a member of the  Archery Center for over 5 years. The past year has been one of outstanding achievements for Hannah, having also achieved a bronze and silver Olympian pin through USA Archery as well as making Team USA’s national ranking team also in third place. As one of the strongest archers in Yankton Hannah’s dedication to archery and success is a beacon for archers to use as their guide.

Following in Hannah’s footsteps, Brea Smith finished Target Nationals with a solid third place finish. Brea came back from a 14 point deficit the first day and came back for a 90 point lead by the end of competition on day two, despite 20 mph winds that challenged even seasoned adult pro shooters. Brea attributes her success at nationals to her ability to stay focused on her own game and not let outside influences like wind, rain, lightning (all of which happened at nationals). Brea has been a member of the Center for two years and started this year with a second place finish at the South Dakota State Indoor Championships and has plans to continue competing.

Congratulations to both archers. You’ve had a great indoor and outdoor season this year. We look forward to seeing how you both do the rest of 2016 and beyond.
